Dalston Roof Park is an urban utopian oasis overlooking London’s skyline. Membership is by donation per season with free film screenings and music events plus pop up street food stalls.
The roof houses lengthy solar panels, which power the building and the events. And the venue actively encourages young people to engage in the garden, and with events.
Inspired by Robert Hammond’s New York High Line, the Dalston Roof Park began as a venture to transform what was once forgotten roof space into a garden framed by the London skyline, high above the bustling streets of Dalston.
Nestled amongst Hackney’s Victorian buildings and overlooking London’s skyscrapers, the Dalston Roof Park started as a collection of allotments cared for by a group of local volunteer gardeners during the day, with a pop-up cocktail bar and live music and film programme in the evenings.
8 years on the space has grown organically, building its reputation as one of London’s most versatile and leading music and event spaces; hosting cutting edge club nights, promoters, brand launches, Radio stations, artists and labels; whilst remaining true to its roots with fundraisers, social impact community events, fashion shows, and film screenings.
Bootstrap and the DRP want our space to be used and enjoyed by everybody, and we believe in local sourcing wherever possible. The DRP is an opportunity to relax, eat, drink, dance and see the London landscape differently.
